Job Description

Barone Management is hiring! We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and proactive Development Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold an MBA or JD with a concentration in Real Estate and have a strong passion for Real Estate. This role involves a wide range of administrative and clerical responsibilities to support the smooth operation of our office, with a strong emphasis on providing direct assistance to senior leadership. The position demands a high level of dedication and time commitment. Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a right hand to company Principals and Management Team: take detailed notes, send dictated emails, track ongoing tasks, and assist with tasks as they arise
  • Support basic accounting functions, including coordinating invoice approvals and communicating with tenants, vendor and our thirty-party accounting firm
  • Conduct Financial modeling, feasibility studies, and market research
  • Support project management through entitlement, design, construction, and asset management
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings (In-person meetings, Zoom calls & conference dial-ins)
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
  • Support the implementation and upkeep of office policies and procedures
  • Handle personal assistance tasks for upper-level management when required
  • Manage office supply inventory and place orders as needed
  • Coordinate due diligence activities and manage relationships with external consultants
  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail

Qualifications

  • Strong note taking and follow-up skills are essential
  • Demonstrated ability to stay on top of tasks and see them through completion
  • Sense of urgency and detailed oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint and Yardi
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • MBA or JD in real estate or similar
  • Highly organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience navigating the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) systems and procedures, including permit tracking, filings, and compliance documentation.
  • Proficient in basic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat for creating and editing visual materials, forms, and presentations.
