Instructor Of Sport And Exercise Sciences

Barry University Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences is seeking an Instructor of Sport and Exercise Sciences. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the discipline and the departmental core; provide thesis mentoring, engage in program, college, and university service, and engage in scholarly research. The candidate must also be responsive to the mission of Barry University.

This position is in person.

Essential Functions

• Utilizing face-to-face, online, and blended teaching modalities to facilitate student learning in undergraduate coursework as assigned by the department chair.
• Work with the SES Recruitment and Retention Coordinator to perform basic data collection and descriptive statistics for enrollment and retention.
• Identify student issues and hardships early, and assist in increasing recruitment and retention numbers.
• Engaging in program, college, and community service to retain and recruit students in the College of Health Professions and Medical Sciences.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Applicants must have a master's degree in exercise and sport sciences or a related field. ACSM CEP and/or NSCA CSCS certifications are highly sought.
• A minimum of one year of experience teaching in the area of Exercise Sciences.
• The candidate must be responsive to the Mission of Barry University.
