Job Description

As an SAT Teacher and Tutor, you will begin by teaching SAT group courses, leveraging your teaching experience to help students improve their scores. You will be expected to succeed quickly in the classroom, with the opportunity to transition into 1-on-1 private tutoring after completing our specialized tutor training.

In this role, you'll create customized lesson plans for individual students, adapting your teaching strategies to meet their unique learning styles, goals, and areas of improvement. You'll help students strengthen their test-taking skills, boost their confidence, and achieve their best possible SAT scores. The position offers a blend of classroom teaching and private tutoring.

As a Live Online SAT Teacher and Tutor, You will be expected to:
  • Empower students with knowledge on the latest digital SAT test format while multitasking effectively-managing slides, responding to online chat questions, and presenting test strategies with confidence, all while adapting lessons to individual needs.
  • Inspire students through the proven Princeton Review curriculum, fostering stronger, more confident learners in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and responsibility by being punctual, responding promptly to student inquiries, encouraging assignment completion, and collaborating with Princeton Review's full-time staff to address student requests and coordinate class logistics.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and engaging atmosphere where students feel guided with compassion and support, maintaining clear, realistic expectations regarding workload, score improvement, and communication with both students and parents.
  • Model accountability in all communications and tutoring sessions, motivating students to build confidence and succeed in their learning journey.
  • Demonstrate a high level of motivation and responsiveness to requests for work, maintaining the ability to manage a heavy workload and take on multiple assignments as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing one.
  • 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience at a reputable test prep or tutoring company, or 1 year of classroom teaching experience in a high school setting.
  • Experience teaching in a virtual classroom, leveraging an online whiteboard and employing diverse engagement tools like chat and polls strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Availability during evenings and/or weekends. Summer daytime availability a plus.
  • Reliable internet connection and computer in a quiet, dependable location.
  • Applicants must successfully pass a timed content exam.
  • Pass a 6-week Instructor Certification course upon hiring which includes homework assignments and live training sessions.

Compensation:

Pay: $25-$50 per hour, based on credentials and geographic location
