Powder Coating Lead (2nd Shift)

Position Summary:

The Powder Coating Lead is responsible for leading the 2nd shift operations to ensure production is complete in a safe, efficient and timely manner while maintaining quality standards. You will work off a priority schedule list from your supervisor and make sure all jobs are completed accordingly per shift. You must be able to remain organized, clean, positive, teamwork, and ensure the smooth flow of products through our coating process. Exceptional eyes for perfection and the willingness to correct mistakes/problems are a must. The Lead will spend 85% of the time painting and 15% helping, directing, scheduling and any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate incoming parts, sequencing, and hanging of parts based on production while working with other employees both inside and outside department
  • Assist in maintenance, cleaning, and repair of equipment as assigned
  • Monitoring production output and quality control.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and 6S.
  • Recommend measures to improve production, equipment and quality of the product.
  • Make sure all jobs are done in a timely manner to meet the customer delivery expectations.
  • Communicate any discrepancies, performance issues and attendance to the paint supervisor.
  • The Lead will work off a to-do daily priority schedule list and will be responsible for any other duties or tasks assigned by management and to take directions from supervisor.
  • Lead and provide ongoing guidance and support for your team members.
  • Follow interpret and apply procedures, work instructions, blueprint reading and company policies to team members.
  • Work with the supervisor to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and to create solutions to complex problems.

  • Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or G.E.D required
    • 2-4 years related work experience
    • Must read and write English
    • Flexible, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • The ability to work overtime when needed
    • Experience working with a company ERP systems
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
    • Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, reach and perform hand and finger movements
